Choosing the right bedding and getting a good night’s sleep relies on three key points: Comfort, Breathability, and Value for Money.
Oftentimes, people look for the highest thread count or lowest price because of a lack of knowledge. We investigate some of the top bedding companies on the market in 2022 and find out how they’re changing the sleep industry!
Cotton bed sheets are a relatively popular option among shoppers and can come with superior benefits. The majority of high-quality cotton bed sheets come with hefty price tags. However, we discovered the company Cosy House Collection that has been creating waves on social media and in the news with their high-quality Classic Cotton Bed Sheets that comes with a ridiculously low price tag!
Doctors say that we get the deepest, healthiest sleep when our bodies are cool, comfortable, and able to breathe. There's nothing worse than a set of sheets that hangs onto moisture and makes you hot. (Ahem: Night-sweats anyone?).
A higher thread count means a tighter weave, making them heavier and less breathable—not exactly ideal for summer months or hot sleepers. When cotton sheets have the right thread count, they can be a very smooth and breathable fabric that keeps you comfortable each and every night.
Finally — you’ll want some sheets that are anti-bacterial. We’ve found that cotton bed sheets that are infused with natural silver can prevent bacteria growth, unlike your old, traditional cotton sheets.
It can be difficult to know which are the best cotton bed sheets on the market. That’s why Great Life Tips has compiled months of research about this emerging category. We’ll show you what to look for and what to avoid when picking your perfect sheet set, and how it can help transform your sleep.

What You Need In The Perfect Bedding
Taking all of the healthful attributes listed above into consideration, we've boiled down a list of four key characteristics you should always look for in a great bed sheet set. Try to seek out all of these qualities:
Softness and Comfort
The best cotton sheets are buttery smooth and feature a luminous sateen weave. Cotton bed sheets should be crafted with 100% cotton for an ultra-soft feel that will last for years to come.
Breathability
The problem with most bed sheets on the market is that they are not very versatile in regard to breathability all year round, regardless of the seasons. No one likes getting a clammy feeling when trying to sleep at night.
As we mentioned above, the higher the thread count, the tighter the weave, which means they are heavier and less breathable. To ensure quality, breathable comfort, get sheets with an ideal thread count, which is typically around 300.
Prevents Bacteria
Traditional fabrics are a breeding ground for bacteria causing bad odors, stains, and even acne.
Cotton sheets that are infused with natural silver keep your sheets fresher, longer by preventing 99.9% of bacteria growth.[1]
Proper Fit
Having sheets that don’t fit correctly can be extremely frustrating and can interrupt your restful night’s sleep. Sheets with deep pockets ensure that they will not slip off your bed and shift throughout the night.
As an added bonus, some sheets are designed with elastic corner straps offer extra security — no more adjusting your fitted sheet every night.
What To Avoid when buying Bed Sheets
A High Thread Count Isn’t Always Better
The higher the thread count, the better the sheets, right? Actually, no (we were shocked to discover this, too!) The ideal thread count is between 300-400, so be cautious of thread counts that are abnormally high or low, or even of products that high exceptionally high thread counts with surprisingly low prices. This typically means that the product has an artificially inflated thread count and isn’t that great of a product.
Higher thread count sheets also mean a tighter weave, causing them to lose any benefit of cooling and breathing.
Chemicals
Many sheets are finished with chemicals that are harmful to your skin and body. Companies process their sheets with chemical finishes to stop shrinking, wrinkling, and pilling in the wash. It’s incredibly important to look for OEKO-TEX or Certi-PUR certifications when buying sheets.
The best way to ensure your bedsheets are free of chemicals and/or harmful substances is to buy from one of the reputable brands carrying OEKO-TEX Certifications. OEKO-TEX certifies that the product has been tested for harmful substances and that they are, therefore, harmless for human health and safe to use.

The Bottom Line
California Design Den offers a great option in terms of soft, sateen weave cotton sheets. However, we were definitely missing some of the features we had grown to love with the Cosy House Collection, such as the anti-bacterial feature.
They do have a variety of sizes to choose from, however, if you have a mattress with deeper pockets you may find yourself fighting the sheet in the corners to stay on.
Their return policy is also only 30-days, and they do not feature any live customer support options.

Brooklinen’s 480-Thread-Count 7-Piece Luxe Bed Sheet Set is very smooth, however, they are on the pricier side. As of writing the Queen Sheet Set is currently $285. Offering top-notch comfort and quality, this may only appeal to those who are not so budget-conscious.
We were happy it’s OEKO-TEX Certified and offers a Lifetime Warranty (as it should for the price), earning it a spot on this list.

Overall GradePROS
- Elegant Design
- Deep Pockets

CONS
- Lacks Durability
- Not as Soft as Others
- Wrinkles Easily
- 30-Day Return Policy
The Bottom Line
Feather & Stitch New York’s Sheets feature a striping pattern for an elegant look, however, they don’t seem as soft as the other picks listed.
These sheets are breathable, making them comfortable despite the time of year or season. They feature an 18-inch deep pocket to easily fit deeper mattresses. Similar to the others, they are also OEKO-TEX Certified. These features earn them a spot on this list.
However, there are a few cons to be aware of. Some reviewers stated that these sheets tend to lack durability and can snag easily. So these need to be handled with care and makes the 30-day return policy less than ideal.

C+
Overall GradePROS
- 400 Thread Count
- Temperature Balancing
- OEKO-TEX Certified
CONS
- Don’t Launder Well
- Only fits mattresses up to 15 inches
- Price Doesn’t Match Quality
- 30-Day Return Policy
The Bottom Line
Pizuna’s 400-Thread-Count Bed Sheets are OEKO-TEX Certified and are crafted with 100% cotton with a sateen weave. They fit deep pocket mattresses up to 15 inches. One of our favorite features of these sheets is that they are temperature balancing, making these great for those who sleep on the warmer side.
Unfortunately, that is where the pros seem to end. These sheets tend to not launder well. They come out wrinkled, tend to pill, and some reviewers have stated that they don’t seem to fit their mattress as they did before washing. Additionally, the colors featured online do not seem to match the actual color of the sheets. With a 30-day return policy, all of these cons can be a huge turnoff for some.
Overall — the quality of these sheets simply does not match the price.
